Lesson One (Part 1)

So, What's So Important About God's Word?

We will begin Lesson One by doing a bit of scriptural research, regarding the greatness of Christ Jesus (Christ being God Himself according to this study of God's word).

Read: John 1:1-14

(Verses 1-14): The Word (Christ) was, still is, and always will be God: (note verse 1), which proclaims Jesus Christ is the Word, the Word being God Himself:

(John 1:1) IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.

(Verse 14a) points out that Jesus (who is the Word, i.e. God) came to this earth in the form of flesh and dwelt among us:

(John 1:14a) And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us;

And, praise God, this same Jesus changes not:

(Heb 13:8) Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).

Also: Mal 3:6a: For I am the Lord, I do not change;

Scripture References to research:

lsa 48:16 -17: (verse 16) reveals the trio, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit ... the Son (Jesus) being sent by God ... the Holy Spirit residing with and in Him:

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one (1 Jn 5:7 KJV) ... (remember, the Word (Jesus) was there in the beginning).

Read: Colossians 1:11-20

(Verses 15 -17) reveals Jesus, who "is" the image of God, as the very one who created all things:

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist (Col 1:15-17 KJV).

According to:

Revelation, Chapter 19, His Name is called the "Word Of God":

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, |but he himself. And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. (Rev 19:11-13 KJV)
