He is the Light. Walk in His Light & Follow Him (John 12:46)

In The Beginning, The Word

Lesson 3  (part 2)

ABIDING (part 2):

11. His Spirit abiding within us, teaches us "all" things.

But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides permanently] in you; [so] then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as His anointing teaches you concerning everything and is true and is no falsehood, so you must abide in (live in, never depart from) Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him], just as [His anointing] has taught you [to do]. 1 John 2:27 (Amplified Bible).

Please understand, this most certainly does not mean we donít need teachers!

So God has appointed some in the church [for His own use]: first apostles (special messengers); second prophets (inspired preachers and expounders); third teachers; then wonder-workers; then those with ability to heal the sick; helpers; administrators; [speakers in] different (unknown) tongues. I Cor.12:28 (Amplified Bible).

If there were no need (or use) for teachers, the Lord would not have appointed teachers to teach us His Word. In fact, you wouldn't be studying this lesson right now, if God didn't intend for us to learn from His teachers. What

the Lord is actually saying to us is, we are to rely on the Holy Spirit to bring us revelation through man, and to teach us His truth. We are not to look to man to teach us the doctrines of man, but rather we are to look to the Holy Spirit to teach us, through man. Remember, you're to prayerfully look to the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth, even as it is taught to you, by those He has placed in your life. Always make sure you are receiving truth from God's word. God said that we are to study to show ourselves approved, and that means we are to study (to labor) in His word. The Holy Spirit is faithful to lead us into all truth. Place your faith in Him, and ask Him. Then do your part, and "seek". Let's continue to see what is said, regarding the faithfulness of the Holy Spirit:

But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the

Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you. Jn.14:26 (Amplified Bible).

But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you. Everything that the Father has is Mine. That is what I meant when I said that He [the Spirit] will take the things that are Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you. Jn 16:13-15 (Amplified Bible).

This next section of scripture verses, reveals the very reason God imparted spiritual, ministerial giftings:

And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church), [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.

Eph 4:11-13 (Amplified Bible).

12. If we are truly abiding in Him, we will not be ashamed when we see Him. Rather, we will have assurance:

And now, little children, abide (live, remain permanently) in Him, so that when He is made visible, we may have and enjoy perfect confidence (boldness, assurance) and not be ashamed and shrink from Him at His coming. 1 Jn 2:28 (Amplified Bible).

Anyone who confesses (acknowledges, owns) that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (lives, makes His home) in him and he [abides, lives, makes his home] in God. And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and in this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love's complete perfection]. 1 Jn 4:15-18 (Amplified Bible).

Beloved, we are [even here and] now God's children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God's children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is. And everyone who has this hope [resting] on Him cleanses (purifies) himself just as He is pure (chaste, undefiled, guiltless). 1 Jn.3:2-3 (Amplified Bible).

Unless we are abiding in Christs Words, we donít really have God:

Anyone who runs on ahead [of God] and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ [who is not content with what He taught] does not have God; but he who continues to live in the doctrine (teaching) of Christ [does have God], he has both the Father and the Son. 2 Jn 1:9 (Amplified Bible).

No one who [habitually] denies (disowns) the Son even has the Father. Whoever confesses (acknowledges and has) the Son has the Father also. I Jn.2:23 (Amplified Bible).

All who keep His commandments [who obey His orders and follow His plan, live and continue to live, to stay and] abide in Him, and He in them. [They let Christ be a home to them and they are the home of Christ.] And by this we know and understand and have the proof that He [really] lives and makes His home in us: by the [Holy] Spirit Whom He has given us. I Jn.3:24 (Amplified Bible)

Read John 15:1-17.

If you have an Amplified Bible, please take a few minutes to read this section of scripture verses, from it. From that reading, I'll quote a few verses:

Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed you [I have planted you], that you might go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit may be lasting [that it may remain, abide], so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], He may give it to you. John 15:4-5, 16 (Amplified Bible).

13. Unless we abide in Him and He (His Word) abides in us, we will bear no fruit.

But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge]. Gal. 5:22-23 (Amplified Bible).

We can have "every" promise in the Bible "if" weíll abide in Him (The Word) and ... He (The Word) abides in us:

If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed you [I have planted you], that you might go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit may be lasting [that it may remain, abide], so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name [as] presenting all that I AM], He may give it to you. John 15:7, 16 (Amplified Bible).

I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father. And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son. [Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]. If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands. John 14:12-15,16 (Amplified Bible).

God, and His precious Word, and to live for His purpose, just as Christ abided in the Father, and lived entirely for "HISí purpose.

John 3:30 says: "He" must increase ... I must decrease.

So be it Lord Jesus . Amen!

With every promise of God, there is a condition to be met. His condition to be met is: You must abide in Me, and My Words must abide in you.   His promise to us, if we do so: Ask what you will, and, it shall be done unto you!  To see how important the Lord thinks it is, for us to be in His Word, read:  I John Chapter 2 KJ V.. (Also very well expounded upon in the Amplified).

Next Lesson: Commitment (Lesson 4)The Lord bless you, as you walk in an "abiding" relationship with Him!
