HIS NAME IS JESUS

He is the Light. Walk in His Light & Follow Him (John 12:46 kjv)

JESUS, OUR "UNSPEAKABLE GIFT

Thanks [be] unto God for his unspeakable gift. (2 Cor 9:15 KJV)

I surely do thank God for His "UNSPEAKABLE Gift" (Jesus), only ... I wonder what is meant by "unspeakable". After all, I do think of Him continuously, and speak of Him almost as often. So how can it be said that He is an "unspeakable gift" in either your, or my life? This, of course, sent me on a search (what I especially love to do), of the meaning of "unspeakable" according to this verse.

This is what I found:

Unspeakable means (from Strong's Concordance): Beyond description; inexpressible.

Inexpressible (from the American Heritage Dictionary) means: Impossible to express; indescribable.

I

ndescribable (from the American Heritage Dictionary) means: Impossible to describe; exceeding description; inexpressible.

All of this, of course, means: beyond description. Unable to describe.

inexpressible means: "Impossible to express".

From the Strong's Concordance, here are a few of the meanings of the word "express":

EXPRESS
To set forth in words; To manifest or communicate, as by a gesture; show.

3. To make known the feelings or opinions of (oneself), as by statement or art.

4. To convey or suggest a representation of; depict.

5. To represent by a sign or a symbol; symbolize. To send by special messenger. Sent out with or moving at high speed. b. Direct, rapid, and usually nonstop. A special messenger.

Now, let's go back to the verse that generated this study:

Thanks [be] unto God for his unspeakable gift. (2 Cor 9:15 KJV).

And ... from the Amplified Bible:
Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift]! (2 Cor 9:15 Amplified Bible)

(this free "Gift" is, of course, is speaking of Jesus Christ)!

Now, I'm going to attempt to paraphrase all of this, so that we can grasp, at least, perhaps, even slightly, some understanding of God's "UNSPEAKABLE Gift", Jesus, and, will do so in the way of a prayer to the Father:

Father, we deeply thank You for Your precious Son, Jesus. How can we even begin to express how we feel about Him. In all actuality, and in accordance with what Your word says, truly Father, we can't. Our finite minds, are unable to comprehend all that He is. In the limited capacity of our own thinking, we are unable to describe such greatness. We do not have the capability to express, to tell, to communicate to others, even if we were to jump up and down, even if we were to sing and/or shout of His goodness, no matter in what way, and by what gesture we try to express to another (and, even to ourselves), of Your Son's greatness, it is impossible to us. Father, even as I would try to represent Jesus in this earth, even if I were called to go forth as a special messenger, moving from one place to the next, even if I were to move at a rapid speed, reaching many, I will never, through my limited understanding, nor even through my own spoken words, or acted out feelings, be able to express or describe this most precious "UNSPEAKABLE Gift", You've given to me (to all of us, in fact, who will call upon His name) this very One, named Jesus.

Father, each of us come to You, with thanksgiving in our hearts, realizing there are yet such mysteries, about Christ Jesus, still to discover, and that He's deeper, wider, higher, and so much more intense, than our hearts, minds and/or thoughts can even begin to comprehend. With such understanding, how can we express Him? How can we describe, or express, the very greatness of this One, Jesus, the Son of the Living God? But, may we never stop trying, oh Lord. May we never stop opening our mouths, and proclaiming Jesus Christ, to a lost and dying world. May we continuously share of, talk about, and to the best of our ability, describe our very best friend, Jesus, to those who are in need of such ... this same "very best friend".

Lord, truly Jesus is an "UNSPEAKABLE Gift", leaving each of us unable to accurately communicate all that He is about, but Lord, surely, we will try. Fill our hearts with living words to speak, Father. We thank You for it, and pray in the most awesome name ever known to mankind ... Jesus Christ. Amen.

It is my hope that our hearts will be open to receive even more revelation of Jesus, revelation that can be spoken forth to a people, who are so in need of Him. Bless you all!

In His Love,
Marcia
