HIS NAME IS JESUS

He is the Light. Walk in His Light & Follow Him (John 12:46 kjv)

CHRIST, THE DOOR

Today, as we continue with the names of Jesus, we'll look at the "DOOR".

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.  (John 10:9 KJV)

This particular verse reveals to us that it is through Christ, and Christ alone, we are saved, and that we have the promise of eternal life with Him.  Let's take a look at a few of the original Greek meanings for the word "DOOR" ...

The Strong's Concordance tells us "DOOR" in this verse means: gate, entrance, way or passage into.  It also means: the door through which sheep go in and out, the name of him who brings salvation to those who follow his guidance.  the door of the kingdom of heaven (likened to a palace) denotes the conditions which must be complied with in order to be received into the kingdom of God.

It is plain to see from this scripture verse, and the Greek explanation of it, that Jesus Himself is that very "DOOR" being spoken of.  So often people ask "what must I do to go to Heaven when I die?", or we know there are many today, who proclaim, or believe, there are "many" ways to obtain the promise of eternal life into Heaven, however such a belief is unacceptable according to the word of God.  If we are to believe God's Word to be true, it is wrong on our part to believe only the parts we want to believe in, and the rest, disagree with.  Either God, by His sovereign will, inspired the words of the Bible, or ... He didn't.  I choose to believe He did, just as His word proclaims

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works  (2 Timothy 3:15-17 KJV).

There is no denying it from what we just read.  Jesus Christ is the "DOOR".  He is the gate ... the very entrance into eternal life in the Kingdom of God, and all that is written in God's word is inspirational, and given by God, Himself.

If you are struggling with the question "how do I get there", why not settle it in your heart once and for all?  The correct Scriptural answer is: through the one and the only "DOOR" ... Jesus Christ.

Father, help each one today, to see the very entrance into Your Kingdom, and into a personal relationship with You, through, Your Son,  Jesus Christ ... the "DOOR"!  May our spiritual vision take us to that very "DOOR" (Christ), and, perhaps, even beyond ... perhaps even a glimpse of Jesus, and maybe just a peek at the very beauty eternity holds for each and every one of us, just on the other side of the "DOOR".  Thank You Father, in Your Son Jesus's name ... Amen.

Blessings upon each of you ...
